| Hey LJ...Long time, no see. |
[05 Aug 2008|10:35pm] |
I know it's been over a year since my last post, but I thought it would be cool to start blogging again. This feeling was brought on a) because I've been reading some of my past entries and I thought it was pretty cool that I had all these memories recorded somewhere and b) because I'm unemployed and consequently really, really bored.
This summer has been pretty mediocre. Other than my trips to Niagara and Waterloo, I haven't gone anywhere interesting. To pass the time, I've been going to the gym regularly and learning German and probability. I'm learning German in preparation for a study abroad semester in Switzerland. (I also need to make up for a credit I didn't get in first semester, but I tend to leave that reason out when people ask) So far, I can describe people physically, talk about things I like and don't like, describe the time and talk about food in German.
Anyway, I'll continue tomorrow. I need to get some sleep.

| Last Day of High School and Aileen's Beach party |
[16 Jun 2007|11:28am] |
The last day of school wasn't too depressing, though it did have it's moments.
Period 1: Religion Exam Review. Nothing exciting. He told us a good chunk of what to expect on the exam, so that'll help make my weekend a lot less stressful.
Period 2: Signing Yearbooks Megan finally signed my yearbook but wouldn't let me read it until I got home. I signed some yearbooks, ate my lunch, loitered around the caf, blah blah blah. I walked Megan to her class and she added some stuff to her note in my yearbook. Then she started to cry and then she hugged me. It was depressing.
Lunch I saw Jenny and Jeanette in the hall, signed their yearbooks and cleaned out my locker. I gave Jeanette one of my extra shirts because she spoiled hers. Then I went to the green pit and did more yearbook signing and then went to period 3 with Mithila.
Period 3: Doing Nothing Mithila, Mary, Manveen and I (lol. we're all M's) sat around talking with Miss Maier. I don't remember what we were talking about but it was funny.
I skipped Calculus to go to Aileen's party at Woodbine beach. Meg, Baby (Lloyd) and I left around 12:30. We got there about an hour later and the sun was blazing. I wasn't originally planning on going to the party, so I didn't have any clothes/sunscreen/money. I spent the entire day in my uniform, which wasn't too bad since I wore the shirt and tie so all I had to do was take off the tie, roll up my sleeves and pants and everything looked fine.
Me and Meg pretty much spent the whole party together. I met some of her co-workers/friends. We got out feet wet and took some pictures. They had to leave early because they were all working. Meg and I spent the day digging holes (lol Lenard's hole), and sitting on the giant rocks, reading my yearbook. It was really cool cause the sun was setting and there was fairy fluff blowing everywhere. I got a bruise on the bottom of my foot when I was climbing down the rocks, into the water. It hurts to walk now. Anyways, we ended up leaving around 10:30.
All-in-all, it was an awesome day.

| Why today was awesome... |
[13 Jun 2007|10:12pm] |
because Grad mass allowed for a lot of photo opps because the grad mass lunch at Mother Tuckers was delicious AND cheap because lunch allowed for even more photo opps because my interview rocked and I got the job

I have been rejected/accepted to all the programs I have applied for. I hope OUAC burns in internet hell after today.

| waterloo and skinny tie |
[13 Mar 2007|08:12pm] |
So yesterday, I bought a new skinny tie at H&M only because it was insanely cheaper than any other skinny tie I could find in the mall. I also bought a math book about how to do proofs properly because I'm so paranoid that I'll find math too hard next year and will have to switch to an easier major.
Today, I went to the University of Waterloo for Campus Day. I went alone. I hated being alone and lost, wondering around campus. Anyways, the rest of the entry will just be for my use for, y'know, when I start applying for residences. St. Jerome's: insanely cramped rooms (about half the size of the other rez's), free mini-fridge, buffet style meals, 19 meals/week Conrad Grebal(sp?): nice rooms, big windows, mennonite cooks, buffet style meals, 21 meals/week St. Paul's: nice layout, nice showers V1: cramped corridors but the rooms weren't too bad, 3 showers shared by 18 people, cool corkboard wall MKV: washroom is a little small for 4 people, rooms were sufficient in size, nice laundry room/recreation area
I didn't bother with any of the other rez's only because they were soo much farther from the math building.

For lent, I will be giving up: -sugary pastries (donuts, cookies, cakes, muffins, etc) -facebook on school days -porn -pizza (except when it is the only food offered, ie starve-a-thon) and I will limit my tv/computer time to 1 hour per day.
wish me luck
EDIT to add: this list really makes me seem fat/gluttonous, lazy and horny. I swear I'm not [that bad]

So, I checked my semester one marks on ouac. I'm so happy with all my marks, especially math. I knew I did well on the exam, but Greg told me that no one got higher than an 84 on it, so I was a little disheartened over the past week. Proved him wrong.

Dear Universities,
Pick me please. pretty please.
Mark
Dear Waterloo/Toronto/Queens,
I really don't want to have to go to Mcmaster or Carleton. So if any of you accept me, I promise that I will not kill myself.
Mark
